About Moschino

Moschino is the fashion brand created by Franco Moschino, Moschino studied fine at the Accademia Delle Belle Arti in Milan in 1967, he hoped to become a painter but after working as a freelance fashion illustrator to finance his studies he fell in love with fashion. Moschino started his career in the fashion industry working as an illustrator for Gianni Versace then in 1969 he began to design for Cadette, an Italian company which allowed him to learn the necessary skills that lead to Moschino opening his own label in 1983 naming it ‘Moonshadow’. This quickly led to the launch of Moschino Couture! Which consisted of luxurious, wearable clothes that were totally quirky and tongue-in-cheek. Moschino quickly became a recognisable fashion brand which was reflective of the eighties through its rebellious design choices and unique characteristics. After Franco Moschino’s death, Rossella Jardini became Moschino's Creative Director from 1994 - she was responsible for the brand image and style. Jardini kept the brand’s famous stylistic and philosophical approach to fashion until October 2013. During this time Moschino designed outfits for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. As well as designing stage outfits for Kylie Minogue's Showgirl - The Greatest Hits Tour, sunglasses for Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour and six outfits for Lady Gaga for her The Born This Way Ball. Today, Jeremy Scott is the creative director of Moschino and he continues to perfect the balance between glamour and elegance with bold, fearless designs that are out of this world!

Moschino glasses have the same quirky underpinnings yet with a softer more sophisticated edge. Each pair of Moschino opticals are both chic and embody the creatively ironic world of Moschino past and present. Moschino eyewear is composed of iconic elements of the brand such as the studs, chains and daring colours. All Moschino’s glasses signify the brand’s provocative attitude playing with acetate and metal to create retro-inspired cat-eye and round frame shapes.
